Good morning! I’m still in a total dessert coma from yesterday, so this post is going to be a lot of photos from the weekend. That way I won’t have to use my brain too much. Besides it was a wonderful weekend and I took about a billion pictures. (Don’t worry…I won’t post all of them.)
Friday I had off work and decided that I was going to do something that I really haven’t ever done. Betty still went to school and I took the whole day (until 5pm anyway) to do whatever I wanted.
“Whatever I wanted” = shopping, breakfast, mani/pedis, and winery hopping with my mom. Normally my idea of heaven involves a warm, sunny beach somewhere, but this was pretty darn close.

Just hook me up an IV line and I’ll be good to go.
I knew that Maryland had wineries, but I had no idea there were so MANY! Like we literally have our own little wine trail over here! We visited three different ones – Boordy, DeJon, and Basignani – but only tasted at 2 because DeJon was sketchy and no one was home.
Speaking of sketchy:
That guy. He’s at Basignani where we did a wine and cheese pairing. It was AMAZING. That Marisa Dolce with the fig goat cheese was one of the best things I’ve ever had in my life.
I’m hungry again.
Then it was time to switch gears from wine hopping to bunny hopping. Saturday morning I woke up earlier than ever before to put in my 18 miler (an experience that will get its own post tomorrow). Then it was time to go meet up with one of my famous friends.
I don’t usually like to be a name dropper, but yeah…I know the Easter Bunny. No really, I do. This event was put on by my work and I know the guy in the suit. And as you can see, Betty had no fear and was her usual hammy self for pictures.
We did an egg hunt there and then later on in the afternoon went to her school for another one. At this point, she has basically become a professional Easter egg hunter. I don’t have to help her at all, which is good because “I DO IT, MOMMY!!!”
On Sunday, the Easter Bunny came. She must have made a really good impression on him because he brought her a scooter and the most epic helmet of all time.
She wanted to wear it for her nap. We all know how dangerous those can be.
Then it was time for MORE EASTER EGG HUNTING.
Needless to say I had some explaining to do this morning as to why we wouldn’t be looking for Easter eggs again today and why the Bunny had to go back to Easter Town until next year. I’m a little sad to see him go. We had so much fun this weekend.
I hope that all of you had a wonderful weekend too and a great Easter if that’s something you celebrate! Happy Easter Monday to my Canadian friends and Happy Boston Marathon Day, everyone!
What did you do this weekend? Did you hunt for eggs? Will you be watching the marathon today? (I WILL!)
xo,
Salt
OMG I NEED THAT HELMET. If you think that I wouldn’t wear it, too, you are wrong. Your daughter is too much. No egg hunting for this kid, but plenty of candy eating regardless.
I wish they had it in adult sizes!!! The one she has is the biggest one they had in stock. It’s supposed to fit a 5 year old, but her head is ginormous. Maybe I should try it on and see if it fits me.
I hear a lot of deliciousness! We didn’t do egg hunting but we did cinnamon rolls Easter morning and baskets for everyone with a lot of goodies inside 🙂
Mmmmm cinnamon rolls sound amazing! We definitely have a lot of goodies floating around our house now. Today I’ll be doing my best to not eat any of it to try and balance out the two giant pieces of cheesecake and rice krispie treats I ate last night.
Happy Monday!! Beautiful pictures!!! I’m so happy you had a great Friday filled with lots of relaxation!!! So happy for ya!!! Lovely Easter egg pictures!!! XOXO!!!!
Thank you, lady! I hope you had a great one too!
Thanks, I DID!!! 🙂 XOXO!!
I’m marathon watching for the first time ever- and excited to do so! I wanted to say that you had me at the title of this post!! 🙂 And, you’re photos are beautiful!
Thank you so much! It was definitely a weekend full of awesomeness!
I think Betty is the only child I have ever seen who doesn’t look terrified by the Easter Bunny. Such a cutie! And, I can’t watch the marathon today because I’m working (boo!) But I’ll be stealthily checking my phone for updates!
Haha thanks. I was pretty surprised at how cool she was with him. At first I asked if she wanted to sit on his lap and she said no, so I told her I’d stand with her for the pic. And then when we got up there she was like “no mommy, I got it”. She surprises me every day!
I’m at work too, but I’ll be watching the feed from here! Such an exciting day!
Oh my I love love love the unicorn helmet. That’s so adorable! I want to get one for my niece. And winery tours are my favourite. I mean you get to tastes tons of delicious wines and it’s usually pretty cheap! hahah not sure what that says about me but I do love a cheap drink
Haha I’m right there with you. It was definitely inexpensive too! The first place we visited was only $10 and they give you your own wine glass to keep! The second place was $20 for the wine and cheese for 2 people! Definitely a fun and affordable (and DELICIOUS!) day!
DUDE! I literally saw that helmet at Target or somewhere in my travels about a week ago and thought B needs this!!!! She’s so extremely precious! I love that she’s not fearful of the Easter Bunny! MMM wine – I need to hope on that Trail ASAP!
Did you ever know we had so many here!? It’s insane! And she was rocking that helmet. The first thing she wanted to do when she got up this morning was put it on and ride her scooter!
HA! That helmet is amazing! Glad that you had a good weekend!
Thank you so much, lady! I hope you did too!
That sounds like an amazing Easter! So glad the bunny was so good to Betty and can you ask her if I can borrow her helmet sometime? I love it! We had a great weekend and most certainly did hunt for eggs. Who says grown ups can’t go on Easter egg hunts!?
Yes and I bet she would absolutely let you borrow it. I think egg hunts are appropriate for any age! I had to help Betty out a bit when she was looking for them at my dad’s house and I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t having a blast with it. 🙂
OMG Betty is the cutest!! First- she is wayyy braver than me because I’m fairly certain the massive bunnies brought me to tears. I was probably expecting, you know, a real bunny. And if I do a duathlon, I’m buying her helmet (in adult sizes though, I have a large melon) 😉 And fig goat cheese! I’m hungry now.
Really the concept of the Easter Bunny is completely terrifying, so I’m surprised that she was so cool with it. But also really glad that she doesn’t seem to have an issue with people in costumes (we are planning a Disney trip haha).
I really hope they make that helmet in adult sizes because I need one. I don’t even do anything that warrants a helmet. I would just wear it because.
Disney trip!!! Ahhhhh!!!!! Can you tell I love Disney? But yes, that’s awesome cause she won’t start balling when those characters get close! Pretty sure I did that when I saw Beast from Beauty and the Beast.
PAHAHAHA you’re the best.
Haha your daughter is so cute!!!! You clearly need to put on an Easter egg hunt every day! And I can’t wait to hear about your 18 miler!
Thanks! We certainly have enough plastic eggs left over. Maybe it should just be Easter year round over here! Haha!
Sounds like a great weekend! I love wine and cheese! We went to an Easter brunch buffet yesterday, I ate way too much and then napped all afternoon. I definitely watched the marathon today, I was on the edge of my seat watching Meb finish, he was incredible!
That sounds like my kind of afternoon right there! And YES it was AMAZING!! I totally had chills. Such a cool and historical moment. 🙂
Love all the pics – it was great seeing your stuff from the wine tasting – those are so much fun!
Funny with the Easter Bunny – when our older son was little and they had a party at the place where he and Lisa went for ‘Mommy & Me’, they had the Easter Bunny and a couple of other characters … it wasn’t a good scene for him! 😀 Funny that now he has no fear of anything … you never know …
I Instagrammed the heck out of that wine tasting haha! 🙂
I honestly was expecting her to freak out and I think in the beginning she was a little scared. We got to the front of the line though and I asked if she wanted me to sit with her and the bunny and she said “No Mommy I got it!” and then was cheesing away! I was shocked!
And then she was very concerned when the Easter Bunny had to take a break. My poor friend in that costume…it was so hot in there!
That helmet is insanely cute! I love that Betty is smiling so big with the bunny!
I was so happy to have today off work so I could keep up-to-date with the marathon! I love watching their speed mile after mile- so inspiring!
I was honestly not expecting that positive of a reaction out of her, so that was definitely awesome!
Man that was SO amazing to watch! I found a good live feed on my computer and I think my coworker wanted to strangle me because I was over at my desk like “She just ran mile 25 in like 5:01!!! Can you even FATHOM that kind of speed!?” and on and on. It was AWESOME to watch! (I wish I had had the day off to see it at home though!)
I think my new mission is to find some fig goat cheese. That sounds delicious! I’m obsessed with Manchego and fig spread. I love wine tasting, too, so I’m extra jealous! Sounds like a fun weekend!
I’m considering calling them and finding out where the heck they got that cheese because I can’t stop thinking about it. You guys should go check it out! It’s right up Falls Road!
Your daughter is gorgeous! And the helmet IS epic. I wonder if I could get my 19 year old to wear one like it when he rides his skateboard.
They have some other sweet animals too that aren’t quite as girly if you have a hard time selling him on a unicorn. 😉 Thank you so much!
Looks like a great day! I love that helmet! We have some wineries in Texas, but I haven’t visited any. I’ve tried some of the wines, but honestly don’t like them too much. I guess I can keep trying until I do!
Hell yes I watched the Boston Marathon! That was so inspiring. I wonder what it’d be like to watch it in a sports bar? I’m guessing there’d be cheers!
I think my coworkers think I’m completely off my rocker because at the end when Meb won I was like crying at my desk. Sorry, everyone in my office who doesn’t understand how awesome running is!
How adorable!! I loved Betty’s helmet.. how fitting it was a unicorn and B.A.A’s symbol is the unicorn. Meb rocked it today!
