Yesterday was just like any other Friday that feels like a Tuesday thanks to an awkward mid-week day off work. I was checking my email before heading to lunch and it was the usual notifications from here and emails from some of my favorite blogs letting me know there were new posts to read. Then a subject line jumped right out at me…one informing me that my little slice of the Internet that I started only 4 months ago and have been having so much fun with ever since has been featured on the website Parenting.com! I had no idea what exactly this feature entailed so I clicked the link and my head just about exploded into a puff of glitter and confetti:
HEY!! THAT’S ME!!
Run Salt Run was picked by Parenting.com as one of their Top 10 Best Mommy Blogs of 2013!! Holy cow!!
How on Earth anyone from Parenting.com stumbled onto my blog is completely beyond me, but there I am, listed right underneath Scary Mommy, a site I have been following for literally years. I took a peek at the other 8 blogs that were chosen for the list too and they are all fantastic. I am in amazing company and it was all so completely out of left field. I don’t think I could possibly feel any more proud and honored.
Also I’m positively giddy over being referred to as an “Athlete” because OMG I have never even thought of myself as an athlete a day in my life. Am I really an athlete? When the heck did that happen?!
Anyway, big ups to the wonderful folks at Parenting.com! You sure know how to make a gal feel special. I started this blog as a place where I could ramble on (and on and on) about running and my daughter and yoga and whatever other crazy things pop into my head. I’ve even made some neat new friends in the process. I hoped that maybe I could inspire a person or two, but I never expected anything like this. This is just really super cool.
I hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend so far! I know I am. A decent 8 miles on the treadmill this morning, Betty had the best gymnastics class, and then we went to Target and Starbucks. Wins all around in the Salt household!
