A race forecast that only a polar bear could love.

I have good news and I have bad news.

The good news is that I got some sweet, super fast-looking cheetah pants for my race on Sunday! Or leopard. Whatever.

See how my daughter and I are matching here? Yeah…not an accident.

The bad news is that no one is likely to see them as they will be hidden under at least 5 other pairs of pants. Because this:

As I mentioned previously, this race is a challenging 5 mile course around and through the Maryland Zoo. Judging by the forecast I’m thinking our animal cheering section is going to be made up of the polar bears, arctic foxes and penguins because who else would be insane enough to be hanging around outside in WAY sub-freezing temps and 25mph winds? I certainly wouldn’t be if I weren’t running! I realize that it’s late November, but couldn’t Old Man Winter have stayed away for one more weekend? It’s 60 degrees here today for chrissake.

Obviously this is not ideal, but in no way will it stop me. My biggest worry is that my toddler is participating in the 1 mile fun run and I’m going to have to dress her up like the Stay Puft Marshmallow Girl to keep her warm. The upside to this is that if she trips and falls, it’s unlikely that she will hurt herself.

Bib pickup is tomorrow and I’m getting really excited! Maybe I should treat myself to a new pair of gloves and a hat while I’m at it.

Where are you running this weekend? Is it cold where you are?

So cute together in your matching pants! I don’t think I could pull those off – basic black for me. I have a 5 mile run with my training group tomorrow and it is supposed to be equally frigid in Cincinnati.

I want to hear from YOU!
